INTRODUCTION
ABOUT US
Drawing backing from the Information Office of the Zhejiang
Provincial Government, China Intercontinental Press and the
Information Office of the State Council, that's China is the
only English language magazine that covers the entirety of
Zhejiang Province and provides expatriates in the Yangtze
River Delta regions, and foreigners who stay in many other
cities in China, detailed, up-to-date information about Zhejiang
province and its capital city of Hangzhou as well as a selection
of the country's goings on and news of the month. With a 10-year
history that cannot be described as anything other than glorious,
that's China has served the expatriate community with dedication
and a focus on improvement - the magazine covers recent news
and business and carries indepth interviews with local celebrities
and those visiting from abroad. The magazine also features
informed and incisive articles on cultural and art issues
as well as tourist hotspots.
At the time of its inception when it was called INTOUCH,
the magazine was a mere bi-monthly publication of some forty
pages. The magazine joined the reputed that's English magazine
family in 2009. Now readers can, and do, delight in a monthly
magazine that reaches a dizzying height of up to 100 pages.
As a member of the extended that's family that includes several
other magazines based in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou,
our team strives to produce a unique, most widely respected
English media brand in the country's most vibrant and dynamic
province.
The editorial goal of that's China is to enrich the lives
of English readers in China, especially in Zhejiang province
and Hangzhou, whether they be first-time tourists, resident
foreigners or locals. Substantial progress has been made over
the past decade by the team to integrate the content into
the expat community and the city they are based in.
Starting from the 2013 year-end issue, the distribution coverage
of the magazine is expanding to cover newsstands across Hangzhou,
the capital city of Zhejiang, and Ywu. Readers can also find
access to the magazine from Amazon.com, WeChat, Weibo and
Kindle.
THE TEAM
The quality and reputation of that's China is guaranteed by
a quality-conscious team that sets the goal high to reach
international publication standards. Major contributors andthe majority of senior editorial office staff are from English-speaking
countries.. The team has also been providing quality translation
services for several major festivals and expos held regularly
in Hangzhou such as the West Lake Expo, the Hangzhou International
Cartoon and Animation Festival and the World Leisure Festival
The company is also responsible for Hangzhou Weekly, Hangzhou's
only English newspaper and a valuable resource for news, travel
and entertainment information.
READERSHIP
Readers of that's China are professionals, university educators,
provincial and municipal government officials and language
learners. With Zhejiang and Hangzhou's steadily increasing
number of foreign residents, business and cultural travelers
and well-educated, cultured locals
enjoying city life to the full, the amount of English readers
in Zhejiang alone has reached a
record high. Statistics show the greater Zhejiang, Shanghai
and Jiangsu area has 250,000 resident foreigners and this
part of China is visited by over eight million foreign tourists
every year. The international community of Hangzhou currently
stands at 10,000 resident foreigners and was enriched by nearly
2.3 million foreign tourists in the year 2012 alone. Hangzhou
was approved by the State Tourism Bureau and the World Tourism
Organization of the United Nations as one of the 'Best Tourism
Cities of China' in 2007. Delivering more than 30,000 copies
per issue, that's China is a truly unique and effective platform
for promoting products, brands and strategies. Official statistics
show the number of incoming foreign students into Zhejiang,
from as many as 166 countries, has increased at an average
rate of 28% in the past three years and a record high of 17,549
foreign students entered in 2012. Yiwu, where the world-famous
small commodity goods market is based, has a stunning number
of resident foreigners that is topping that of Hangzhou and
Ningbo. Every issue of that's China will be distributed to
bars, deluxe office buildings and apartments, fine restaurants
and cafes, such as all Starbucks locations, fitness centers
and beauty salons in major cities of Zhejiang and various
consulates in Shanghai. The magazine is also delivered directly
to rooms of most of the five-star hotels in all major cities
in the province, multinational companies, economic development zones, representative business organizations and
government offices of many cities. We are expecting to add
more distribution locations to the list in future. People
living outside Hangzhou also enjoy convenient access to that's
China via the country's postal service.
